🎯 Goal: Copywriting and Writing style

⏰ Time: 5-20 minutes

⚠️ Difficulty: 2 (Easy)

Summary:

You know good writing when you see it. But producing good writing is an entirely different skill set.

Copywork is simply the act of rewriting a piece of writing you enjoy. The goal is to reproduce an exact copy of the original work: word for word, comma for comma.

This process helps you develop the muscle memory to create great writing yourself.

(I shouldn’t have to say this, but here’s your reminder to not plagiarize other people’s writing by passing it off as your own. This is just a writing exercise.)

Instructions:

  1. Choose a Piece of Writing. Pick a piece you admire or that you want to emulate. It could be an advertisement, blog post, Twitter thread, or even an entire book.
  2. Copy The Piece. Write the piece word for word. Take your time to notice the rhythm of each piece.
